Mermaid Maritime secures Singapore subsea contract

Thailands’s Mermaid Maritime has been awarded a subsea contract with an estimated value of $5m.

The contract involves use of a company’s self-owned ROV support vessels and a chartered-in ROV support vessel to carry out an air diving job to clamp and repair a pipeline offshore Singapore for an international upstream oil and gas company.

The work is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2017 and is expected to be competed in the fourth quarter.

Mermaid said it is the first time that it secured work of this kind in Singapore and it is in line with its strategy to secure new customers in new markets.
