Mermaid Maritime secures subsea service contract in Gulf of Thailand

Mermaid Maritime has announced that its subsidiary, Mermaid Subsea Services (Thailand), has secured a subsea ROV services contract, worth around $10m, in the Gulf of Thailand with a major upstream oil and gas company.

The workscope under the contract, which runs from March 2016 to March 2018, covers structure and sea line inspection, free span correction and corrosion prevention. The contract also includes an option for a one-year extension.

Mermaid Subsea Services will deploy ROV support vessel  Mermaid Sapphire along with a deepwater work-class ROV for the contract.

Earlier this week, the company just announced a $10m subsea cable installation contract from an existing customer in Qatar, which will utilize its construction barge Mubarak Supporter.
