Milaha takes on its largest boxship

Milaha Maritime & Logistics, the operating arm of Qatar Navigation, has taken on its largest boxship to date. The Majd, a 3,768 teu vessel formerly known as HS Chopin, was previously controlled by Germany’s Hansa Shipping.

The Majd is a big step up in size for Milaha whose largest owned ships to date had been in the 1,015 teu class. It does charter in vessels as large as 2,826 teu in capacity.

Following on from the blockade by many of its Arab neighbours Milaha has been beefing up both its fleet and network in recent months. Today it operates a fleet of 13 boxships.
