China’s Ministry of Transport appoints new maritime tsar

Beijing: The Ministry of Transport has announced that it has appointed Li Tianbi as the new chief director of the Waterway Transportation Bureau, the supervisor and policy maker for China’s shipping market.

The position had been left vacant since August 2014 when former director Song Dexing moved to Sinotrans&CSC Group as a vice president.

Li used to serve as the vice director of the Jiangsu Maritime Safety Administration and vice director of the Waterway Transportation Bureau.
