Minsheng Financial Leasing makes bulker return

Beijing-headquartered Minsheng Financial Leasing has snapped up its first reported bulker deal in a couple of years.

It has taken the Tsuneishi-built, 82,000-dwt United Galaxy for $20.5m in a bank driven sale from trustees of the once mighty Japanese owner United Ocean Group.

The ship was reported sold the same day it was put up for sale as many Japanese-built sales candidates are these days.

VesselsValue shows Mingsheng has a fleet of 26 bulkers and another seven to deliver. It also has boxships and tankers.

Two more United Ocean ships are expected to be sold this week too.
