M/Maritime reveals new bulker orders

Fast growing owner M/Maritime has taken delivery of an ultramax bulker from Shin Kurushima Toyohashi Shipbuilding and taken the opportunity to reveal it has placed orders at other Japanese shipyards for more.

The Greek company said it placed orders late last year at Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding for a pair of 60,200 dwt ultramax bulk carriers, scheduled for delivery between the second half of 2019 and first half of 2020.

Last week, it also signed a shipbuilding contract for a single 37,000 dwt handymax bulker at Saiki Heavy Industries, with delivery scheduled for the first quarter of 2020.
