MOL newbuild bulker contracted to Jera Trading

Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines newbuild coal carrier Nagara Maru was delivered on Friday and is set to go out on charter to Singapore’s Jera Trading.

The post panamax vessel, built at Imari Shipyard, has been classified as a “Hekinan MAX” by MOL. It is 250m in length to maximise volumes while discharging at the Chubu Electric Power’s Hekinan Thermal Power Plant in Aichi, Japan.

MOL has been operating sister vessel  Shin Yahagi Maru since 2015. The two vessels will be used in tandem supplying coal to the Hekinan Thermal Power Plant.
