MPA Singapore revokes two more bunker licenses

Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has pulled the plug on licenses for bunker craft operator Seaquest Tanker and bunker supplier and craft operator Vermont UM Bunkering.

MPA said that during investigations into the two companies, discrepancies and wrongful declarations were found in the records kept on board their bunker tankers. Additionally, there were separate incidences of the transfer of bunkers between bunker tankers conducted without approval.

The two companies will no longer be allowed to operate as bunker suppliers and bunker craft operators in Singapore.

Since early 2014 MPA has been cracking down on companies not complying to standards and regulations resulting in the cancellation of multiple bunker licenses.
