Navibulgar declares options on Yangzijiang handysizes

Bulgarian owner Navibulgar has declared options on a pair of handsizes at China’s Yangzijiang shipyard.

Navibulgar ordered had previously placed a 4+2 order for the 45,000 dwt bulkers at the yard, opting for the Bluetech 45 handmax design.

“This constitutes another confident step towards the implementation of Navibulgar’s objective to operate towards the middle of the 2020s its own fleet of 1.5 million tons of average age below 7 years,” the company said in a statement.

In August, the fast growing Bulgarian owner ordered four 42,000 dwt bulkers at Chengxi Shipyard, also opting for Bluetech designs.

Navibulgar current has a fleet of 33 vessels.
