Navibulgar takes another four handies

Bulgarian handy specialist Navibulgar continues adding Chinese-built ships sources tell Splash.

This week, unconfirmed broker reports suggest one of Europe’s most aggressive owners in the handysize secondhand market has laid down $32m on the table, for four-year-old 37,000 dwt bulkers, the Adfines North, Adfines South, Adfines East and Adfines West. The ships were owned by Switzerland’s ABC Maritime – and the sale marks the Swiss firm’s exit from dry bulk to focus just on small tankers. All four bulkers were built at Zhejiang Zhenghe Shipbuilding and have been on the sales block for a while. The deal comes with time charters attached.

Earlier this year Navibulgar picked up four young, similar sized ships built at three different Chinese yards.
