Navios Containers snaps up NSC panamax boxship

Navios Maritime Containers has announced the acquisition of 2010-built panamax containership Navios Felicitas for $11.45m.

Splash can reveal the vessel to be the 4,360 teu containership Bonaire, previously owned by Germany’s NSC Holding.

Broker reports of the sale of a ship called Bonaire confused many to believe it was Lomar Shipping’s chemical tanker Bonaire Trader. Lomar had denied the sale.

Bonaire was delivered to Navios last month and renamed Navios Felicitas to take the Navios fleet to 21 vessels. The acquisition was financed by cash from the company’s balance sheet and $6m of bank debt under existing facilities.
