Navios Maritime Partners has picked up its fifth vessel addition for the year, acquiring a six-year-old South Korean-built capesize for $31.05m.
The vessel is scheduled for delivery in June 2017, and chartered out at $11,733 per day until the first quarter of 2018.
Navios plans to finance the acquisition with cash on its balance sheet and by using existing credit facilities.
Navios Maritime Partners has acquired two panamaxes and three capesizes this year. spending around $114m. It has also reached an agreement with Singapore’s Rickmers Maritime to acquire the Singapore trust’s entire containership fleet for around $113m.
