New IMO secretary-general to be elected today
London: IMO Council members will vote today to elect one of six candidates to replace Japan’s Koji Sekimizu as secretary-general of the IMO at the end of this year.
Candidates have been put forward by Cyprus, Denmark, Kenya, Philippines, Russia and South Korea. The winner will serve a four-year term.
