New Jakarta governor urged to create maritime program
Jakarta: Executive director of the Indonesia Maritime Institue, Dr. Y Paonganan, has called on the newly elected governor of Jakarta, Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, to create a comprehensive maritime-based program.
Paonganan stated that there has been focus on the development of land, but urged Jokwi to develop the Jakarta sea area claiming Jakarta had potential to be not just Indonesia’s largest maritime city, but the largest in the world.
