New leader at Ministry of Transport

Beijing: In a CPC leader’s conference which was held earlier this week, the Ministry of Transport has named Yang Chuantang to replace Li Shenglin as Secretary Chief of the Ministry of Transport.

Having worked in the petrochemical industry, Yang Chuantang had served as governor of Qinghai Province and Party Secretary Chief of Tibet Autonomous Region.

Yang will likely continue Li’s stance on shipping and shipbuilding. Li famously said last year that Beijing would help “guide” the domestic shipping and shipbuilding industries through the downturn.  [03/08/12]
