Hong Kong: China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) has appointed the chief economist of China Merchants Group, Su Xingang, as president of the company as well as chairman of Hong Kong Ming Wah Shipping.
Former president Huang Shaojie will move to be the vice-chairman of the company.
Born in 1958, Su Xingang graduated from Dalian Maritime University. Previous employment includes stints at the Ministry of Transport and China Changjiang Shipping.
CMES is undergoing significant expansion, having recently placed orders for up to 10 VLCCs. [26/06/12]
