Nova Shipping orders woodchip carrier pair at CSSC Chengxi

China’s CSSC Chengxi Shipyard has announced that it has entered into shipbuilding contracts with a Singapore owner for the construction of two 64,000 dwt woodchip carriers. Splash understands Nova Shipping is the buyer behind the deal.

The vessels are scheduled to be delivered in 2019. Other contract details were not disclosed.

Nova Shipping currently operates a fleet of 13 woodchip carriers, and it also has four 34,500 dwt tankers under construction at Taizhou Sanfu Shipbuilding.
