Oaktree takes Blue Lines MR pair

Global investment firm Oaktree Capital Management has snapped up MR product tankers, according to broker reports. Side notes in one broker report note that the sale is old, however, no name change and owner change has been registered by online shipping database Equasis.

The two similar vessels, the 51,000 dwt Batissa, built at STX in 2008 and the slightly smaller Hyundai Mipo-built Atlantic Hope fetched an en bloc price of $36.5m, a decent price if one looks at the market value for each ship separately. Both ships belonged to Blue Lines Shipping from the United Arab Emirates, according to online portal VesselsValue.com’s fleet register.
