Ocean Yield extends charter with Ezra Holdings for Lewek Connector

Norwegian owner Ocean Yield has extended a $40,000 per day charter to a related company of Singapore’s Ezra Holdings for the subsea construction vessel Lewek Connector.

The two companies signed a four month charter in February after Ocean Yield had earlier terminated the charter for the vessel with Ezra’s EMAS Chiyoda Subsea over non-payment. A request for a standstill by the charterer in December was one of the first signs of trouble at EMAS Chiyoda Subsea, which later filed for bankruptcy protection in the US as did Ezra Holdings soon after.

The extension starts June 1 and is for a firm period of three months with a further option available for extension by up to two months.
