Pacific Basin adds third ship this year

A few weeks after picking up a handy from troubled United Ocean the , 31,000 dwt Global Peace, Hong Kong listed Pacific Basin strikes again, this time adding a slightly smaller ship, the 29,000 dwt Valente Angel in what brokers note as a private sale with no price reported. Online portal VesselsValue sets the market value for the Japanese built ship in the high $7m range.

The ship is the third vessel the Mats Berglund-led company is reported buying this year, recently adding one 2011- and one 2010-built ship from its Japanese friends. This latest ship fits Pacific Basin’s fleet profile that counts 100 ships with an average age of eight years . The seller of the 2007-built ship, Shoei Kisen, is listed with 22 handies in it its fleetlist. The Valente Angel is the oldest of them all.
