Peter Levesque to replace Sean Kelly at Modern Terminals

Modern Terminals, Hong Kong’s oldest container terminal operator, today announced that Peter Levesque, the company’s current coo will succeed Sean Kelly as managing director beginning next year.

As part of Modern Terminals executive succession plan, Kelly and Levesque have begun a six-month transition period beginning 1 July. Kelly, who has been with the company for the last 17 years, will step down at the end of 2016.

Levesque has been with Modern Terminals since February of 2010, and has served as chief commercial officer and most recently as chief operating officer. Prior to Modern Terminals, he held executive positions at DHL, CEVA Logistics, and American President Lines.

Besides Hong Kong, Modern Terminals has port interests across mainland China.

Starting out with the Informa Group in 2000 in Hong Kong, Sam Chambers became editor of Maritime Asia magazine as well as East Asia Editor for the world’s oldest newspaper, Lloyd’s List. In 2005 he pursued a freelance career and wrote for a variety of titles including taking on the role of Asia Editor at Seatrade magazine and China correspondent for Supply Chain Asia. His work has also appeared in The Economist, The New York Times, The Sunday Times and The International Herald Tribune.
