Brazilian authorities have given approval for Petrobras to export idle liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes in the spot market, according to Reuters.
The state oil company, which needs the approval of the energy ministry for some commercial actions, has been given the go-ahead to ship up to 6.6 million cubic metres as long as it doesn’t hurt supply in the Brazilian market.
Petrobras operates three regasification terminals but domestic natural gas demand has dropped during the economic slump.
