Petrobras had some good news, announcing the start of new production operations from an FPSO in the offshore Lula field in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, according to Reuters.
Brazil’s scandal-plagued, heavily indebted state oil firm said it has connected the FPSO (floating, production, storage, offloading unit) Cidade de Saquarema which is producing 30,000 barrels a day.
The Cidade de Saquarema is owned by SBM Offshore and is on 20-year lease to Petrobras.
Petrobras holds a 65 per cent interest in the Lula oil field in partnership with BG E&P Brasil (25%) and Petrogal Brasil (10%).
