Polarcus gets expansion down under

Dubai: Oslo-listed seismic vessel operator Polarcus has announced the expansion of seismic survey work it is doing for a multi-client project offshore Australia, the Capreolus 3D project.

The company is providing a basin-wide broadband 3D seismic dataset across the Roebuck Basin, offshore North West Shelf, Australia. It will now survey northwards of its initial contracted area an additional 7,130 sq km.

The total survey area for the project, which Polarcus initially contracted in October 2014, will now reach a total of 22,120 sq km.

The additional work will utilize an additional Polarcus 3D seismic vessel for part of the program, which is expected to produce final data products within the first quarter of 2016.
