Polarcus seismic survey ship gets contract extension

Athens: TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company (TGS) has signed  a letter of award (LOA) for a contract extension for a seismic survey vessel owned by Oslo-listed offshore vessel operator Polarcus.

In April, TGS and Polarcus signed a deal that would see the Polarcus Adira (4,350 dwt, built 2012; pictured) collect 3D seismic data over an area of 3,000 square kilometres in the southeast Barents Sea.

This contract was today renewed for a further 3,000 square km of work in the Norwegian Barents Sea, once the original survey has been completed.

The LOA signed in April allowed for a contract extension of up to 7,000 square km.

TGS provides multi-client geoscience data to oil and gas exploration and production companies worldwide.
