Brokers inform Splash that Greek owner P&P Shipping was behind the purchase of the Marichristina, a 2001-built panamax bulker. Earlier broking reports had listed the Korean-built ship as bought by Greeks at $5.1m. P&P is the buyer, Splash understands, and the ship will be renamed Johnny P.
“They have been fairly active in recent times, it’s their third recent acquisition,” a broking source revealed. As well as the panamax, P&P has also recently taken on two supreamaxes.
