Primerose Shipping orders two bulkers at CSSC Chengxi Shipyard

China’s CSSC Chengxi Shipyard has signed shipbuilding contracts with an unnamed European owner for the construction of two 81,000dwt bulk carriers.

According to broking sources, the order was placed by Greek owner Primerose Shipping at a price of $24.8m each vessel.

The order is part of Primerose Shipping’s six-vessel financing project supported by China’s Minsheng Financial Leasing. The other four 82,000dwt bulkers are currently under construction at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding.

Primerose Shipping currently operates a fleet of eight bulk carriers including five panamaxes and three ultramaxes.
