Cairo: Eng Hatem Saleh, Egypt’s minister of industry and foreign trade, has revealed there are a number of Qatari investors keen to invest in industry, agriculture, infrastructure and energy in Egypt. A firm agreement has also been struck between Egypt and Qatar for the latter to establish an industrial zone for heavy industries along the banks of Suez Canal. Egypt is trying to build an economic corridor along the canal and is seeking foreign investment to transform the region. [31/03/13]
