Ridgebury Tankers snaps up Euronav VLCC

Belgium-based tanker owner Euronav has sold its 2001-built VLCC Artois to Bob Burke’s Ridgebury Tankers for $22m.

Euronav logged a gain of $7.7m on the sale of the vessel, which was the oldest in its VLCC fleet.

The vessel is expected to be delivered to Ridgebury next month, and is currently listed in the Tankers International VLCC 15+ pool under the name Ridgebury Artois.

Euronav said the sale is part of an ongoing wider fleet renewal programme and helps to reduce the average age of its fleet.
