Netherlands-based equipment supplier Royal IHC has bought a majority stake in Tompkins, the parent company of Modus Seabed Intervention.

Modus provides remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and related services for deployment in construction and drill support, and survey and inspection activities.

Its fleet of trenching ROVs are able to undertake cable and pipeline trenching, seabed earthmoving and other tasks.

Modus is also a partner in the TI Geosciences joint venture, which was established by Royal IHC and Tompkins in 2015.
