RPGs fired at tanker transiting Bab-Al-Mandeb Strait

The Muskie, a Marshall Islands flagged tanker, was fired on by three RPGs yesterday from three men in a skiff on the southern Bab-Al-Mandeb Strait. The assailants were also carrying guns, the tanker’s master reported. The ship is reported as safe however, despite some damage to its superstructure and it has made for its next port of call. None of the crew were injured.

A similar attack occurred just four nautical miles southeast of yesterday’s incident in October last year when the Spanish flagged Galicia Spirit was attacked with an RPG from a skiff.
