SAL Heavy Lift closes Dutch offshore office

SAL Heavy Lift has announced the closure of its Dutch-based business SAL Offshore citing challenging times and a significant reduction of projects in the offshore sector.

The move will see the closure of the SAL Offshore office in Delft, with all future offshore service business to be handled by the Marine Projects team located in SAL’s Hamburg head office. A new Rotterdam office will also be established focusing on shipping activities.

SAL said the closure of the Delft office will result in job losses, although the number of workers to go was not revealed.

SAL Heavy Lift was sold by Japanese line K Line in July to Bremen based shipowner Harren & Partner.
