Second LNG terminal on the cards in Singapore
Singapore: Singapore is contemplating construction of a second LNG terminal even before its first one has come onstream as demand for the fuel jumps in the region.
S Iswaran, minister in the prime minister's office and second minister for home affairs and trade & industry said at a conference in Singapore yesterday that a second terminal “depends on timing and opportunities”. He noted that “demand for LNG [in Singapore] is already stronger than initially expected.”
Singapore’s first gas terminal is due to open in the middle of next year on Jurong Island. [23/10/12]
