Sembcorp wins big with $806m drillship order

 

Singapore: Sembcorp Marine subsidiary Jurong Offshore Pte Ltd has secured a $806.4m contract for the design and construction of a drillship for Sete Brasil Participacoes S.A. of Brazil.
 
This is the seventh confirmed order for Jurong Shipyard’s proprietary Jurong Espadon drillship design from the Brazilian firm. The unit is capable of operating at 10,000 ft water depth and drilling to depths of 40,000 ft, with accommodation facilities for a crew of 180 personnel and is scheduled for delivery by the third quarter of 2016.
