Shanghai Bestway secures double jackup rig contract

Shanghai: Shanghai Bestway Marine Engineering Design has announced that subsidiary, Shanghai Bestway Marine Machinery Equipment Import and Export Company, has secured a contract to build two jackup rigs for Meikesi Offshore Engineering.

The two rigs will be built by another subsidiary, Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry, and are priced at $58m each.

Shanghai Bestway reported a net profit of RMB55.8m ($8.9m) for 2014, showing year-on-year growth of 307.12%.
