Shipyard blast in Jiangsu, one dead and two injured

Shanghai: An explosion occurred at Mingyang Shipyard in Lianyungang, Jiangsu yesterday afternoon, causing the death of one worker dead and injuring two.

According to local reports, the worker was doing electrical welding work on a ship when the paint inside the cabin was inflamed, causing the explosion.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.

Mingyang Shipyard was established by Zhejiang Haoyou Shipbuilding in 2007, and it was later acquired by Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry.
