Siem Shipping takes newbuild reefer pair on five-year charters

Siem Shipping has announced an agreement with a Japanese owner to take two newbuild reefer vessels on time charter for a minimum 5 years.

The pair are under construction at Shikoku Dockyard in Japan and are scheduled for delivery early 2017.

Each vessel will have a capacity of 650,000 cbft in their refrigerated holds, and around 300 refrigerated containers on deck.

In April 2015, Siem Shipping acquired two reefer vessels, Star First and Star Prima, having previously operated them on time charter from the same yard.
