Simatech Shipping snaps up panamax boxship from Dauelsberg Herm

UAE-based boxship operator Simatech Shipping has acquired 2004-built panamax containership Clivia from German owner Dauelsberg Herm.

Broking sources revealed that Simatech paid $8m for the 4,132 teu vessel.

Following the acquisition, Simatech Shipping will have a fleet of 13 containerships with an average age of 11 years.

Simatech Shipping mainly provides feeder services in the Gulf, Indian Sub-Continent, Far East and East Africa. In August, it jointly launched a new Pakistan – Gulf service with Taiwan’s Wan Hai Lines where the two companies have each provided vessel for the service.
