Sinochem setting up in Singapore as it eyes transpacific trades

Sinochem Shipping will open a new office in Singapore in 10 days time as part of plans to interenationalise the firm.

Aoxing Singapore will be a subsidiary of Sinochem Shipping Singapore. Aoxing is the management arm of the company. It has been in Shanghai since 2003.

“The motive force for establishing a new office in Singapore is part of the company’s first move towards internationalization,” Captain A K Nanda, managing director of the new Aoxing Singapore, told Splash.

While Sinochem has mainly focused on the Middle East and Asian chemical trades, its series of newbuilds set to deliver soon will be deployed on the transpacific with Aoxing Singapore set to look after these new ships.

“Aoxing Singapore is expected to manage 24 vessels by the end of 2017 and is expected to grow rapidly,” Nanda said.
