Slow pipeline development hinders Iraqi oil exports
Dubai: Iraq is not building pipelines fast enough, especially in the south of the country, to increase its exports. Pipelines to the nation’s southern ports are not coming along at a speed commensurate with demand. Iraq is the second largest producer in OPEC. Bad weather at the beginning of the year was thought to have kept exports down, but now exports say the main problems is logistics. Exports are likely to remain at 2.4m barrels a day for the first six months of this year, the same level as in 2012. [14/04/13]
