Solstad Farstad anchor handlers win Australian tow contract

Norwegian OSV powerhouse Solstad Farstad has won a contract from Cooper Energy to utilise a pair of AHTS vessels to support drilling operations in the Bass Strait region in Australia.

Far Statesman and Far Senator will tow semi-submersible rig Ocean Monarch from the North West Shelf of Australia to the Bass Strait. They will then continue with support duties for a firm period of 120 days, with two further 60-day options available.

The towing of the Ocean Monarch is expected to commence wither late December 2017 or early January 2018.

Far Statesman and Far Senator are both owned by Norway’s Ocean Yield and on long-term charter to Solstad Farstad.
