Solstad Offshore secures Technip vessel deal

Solstad Offshore has signed a frame agreement with Technip Norge and Technip UK for the supply of vessels for trenching, construction and subsea services.

The new three-year agreement sees Solstad become Technip’s supplier of vessels for trenching and subsea construction work conducted out of Norway and the UK. Technip will have four vessels at its disposal made up of Normand Progress, Normand Pioneer, Normand Ranger and Normand Mariner.

The commercial terms of the deal were not revealed.

Earlier this week, Kjell Inge Rokke’s Aker pumped $62m into Solstad Offshore to become a major shareholder with a 31% stake.
