Solstad Offshore wins Glen Lyon FPSO work

Solstad Offshore has won work with SBM Offshore and BP for the towing and installation of the Glen Lyon FPSO representing a firm commitment of 220 days plus options.

The agreement with SBM Offshore is to tow the FPSO from Haugesund to its final location West of Shetland. Solstad is utilising a trio of AHTS vessels, the Normand Prosper, Normand Ranger and Normand Progress from its owned fleet, and is also chartering in a fourth vessel.

Solstad will also utilise Normand Prosper and Normand Ranger in a deal with BP for the heading control of the FPSO during installation.

Work commenced late last month.
