Sonatrach orders LPG carrier at Jiangnan Shipyard

Hyproc Shipping, a subsidiary of Algerian state energy company Sonatrach, has ordered a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier at China’s Jiangnan Shipyard with an option included in the contract for one more vessel.

According to a Sonatrach, the vessel will have a capacity of between 11,000 and 13,000 cu m, and the contract value is around $40m.

Sonatrach currently owns a fleet of ten LPG carriers through its subsidiaries Hyproc Shiping and Sonatrach Petroleum Corporation.
