Spliethoff orders six MPPs at Ouhua

Dutch outfit Spliethoff has ordered six multipurpose vessels at Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding, a rare big order for a Chinese yard.

The Polar Code compliant 18,000 dwt ships will also feature scrubbers while the accommodation blocks will be located at the bow end of the ships.

Part of Ouhua’s success in the face of a massive drop off in orders at most Chinese yards has been its ability to meet client demands for many design tweaks.

The first vessel of the Spliethoff series, named Raamgracht, is scheduled for deliver in January 2019, followed, in regular intervals of two months, by her five sisters.
