Star Bulk returns to Bariba for supramax pair

Having confirmed the acquisition earlier this week of Chinese-built supramax Privaegean from Bariba Corporation, Greek owner Star Bulk has returned to its compatriot for a pair of supramaxes.

Star Bulk has snapped up the 2012-built 58,000 dwt pair Privbaltic and Privgulf for a little under $13m each according to broking sources.

Bariba was controlled by Greek tycoon Andreas Vgenopoulos, who died from a heart attack in November last year, and the company’s new management has put the entire fleet up for sale.

According to the Bariba website, the company owns seven vessels, however with the recent sales to Star Bulk it is now left with just four.
