Subsea 7 wins Mobil contract in Nigeria

Subsea 7 has been awarded a contract by Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPN) for production uplift pipeline projects offshore Nigeria.

The contract includes the engineering, construction, transportation, installation and pre-commissioning of 20km of corrosion resistant alloy pipeline between the Idoho Platform and the terminal onshore, in addition to 2km of pipeline between the Edop and Idoho Platforms.

Engineering and procurement starts immediately, while offshore operations are scheduled from the third quarter of 2018 utilising 2009-built pipelay vessel Seven Antares.

Gilles Lafaye, regional VP for Africa at Subsea 7, commented: “Subsea 7 has a long track record of successful operations in Nigeria, enabled by our local joint venture, NigerStar 7. This award reflects our strong reputation for successful conventional project execution in the region and offers us a further opportunity to support the continued development of the country’s oil and gas industry.”
