Swiber wins $80m pipeline project in Latin America

Singapore offshore service provider Swiber has announced that it has received a letter of intent from an unnamed global energy company for the installation of pipelines and supporting structures in Latin America.

The contract, valued at $80m, includes the installation of monobuoys, pipeline-end manifolds and a submarine pipeline.

Swiber said that the work will commence during the third quarter of this year and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2016.

Darren Yeo, deputy ceo of Swiber, commented: “Latin America has one of the largest reserves of crude oil in the world and holds exciting potential for the oil and gas industry. We look forward to commencing this project.”

Swiber said that the client was a new client for the company.
