Taiwan Navigation orders ultramax pair at Oshima Shipbuilding

Taiwanese dry bulk owner Taiwan Navigation has placed a new order at Japanese yard Oshima Shipbuilding for the construction of two 62,000 dwt ultramax bulk carriers as part of its fleet optimization plan.

The total price of the contract is $51m and deliveries are scheduled in 2020 and 2021.

The order adds to an order placed by the company for two 62,000 dwt bulkers at Oshima in May.

Taiwan Navigation currently operates a fleet of 20 vessels, with two 80,000 dwt newbuildings set to join the fleet in October.
