Kuala Lumpur: TAS Offshore, the Sarawak-based shipbuilder, is confident of posting higher revenues and profits in the coming two years. It has recently bagged orders worth a combined RM253.3m for a variety of vessels including AHTSs, tugboats, harbor tugs and landing crafts.
In its past financial year TAS delivered 19 tugboats and two AHTSs. Offshore looks good for the yard, with a senior spokesperson noting, "The demand is expected to increase in tandem with the increase in offshore deep-sea exploration and production activities by the oil majors.” [09/11/12]
